![]() I used another NOS blade from the same magazine but there was no rust on it, so I didn't clean it. I shaved with it and it would cut nothing. I slipped it back into the magazine and then injected it into my razor. I scrapped it off with my fingernail and then dipped a ball into rubbing alcohol and gave it a quick rub. I slipped one blade out to examine it and there was a small amount of rust, but not on the sharp portion. Recently, I found NOS Schick Plus Platinum blades. Is that the consensus around here? When the blade was dull, I used the magazine to slip the dummy blade back in while it was out of the rotation. ![]() While I didn't find the shave to be as close as using my Merkur DE, I found the shave to be smoother in a lot less time. I plugged in new Chinese Schick blades and enjoyed those shaves. So I've started using an injector razor after finding a NOS type G1. Others will surely be along shortly to offer further advice and comments. I get mine from Amazon, but they are also available on daBay. I use the Chinese-made Schick injector blades (aka "Chicks" around here).they are just fine.very sharp, smooth and long lasting - and AFAIK work in all Types of Schick injectors. I don't perceive a great difference in shaving performance among the three.they are all sweethearts and smooth shavers! My favorite (my birth year razor) is a Type G1 and its teammates are a Type E2 and a Type I2. To get familiar with the "Types" check this out: Ī general rule of thumb is that the higher the Type (e.g., a type "M" would be higher than a Type "L") the milder the razor. I got all mine from sellers on daBay.and 2 were mint/unused.very sweet! I have a rotation of 60-, 70-, and 80-year old beauties that shave as good as they look (I like the "art deco" description.I never thought of that). Schick doesn't make injector razors any more, and the best thing to do IMHO is get a vintage Schick razor (or 2 or 3 or.). IME, the Schick injectors are very smooth shavers.I get great shaves from all my razors. As an avowed SchickHead (I only use Schick injectors), I applaud your obvious superior intelligence.
